Privacy Policy
We take privacy seriously—yours and your users’.
Here’s what we do (and don’t do) with data.
What We Collect
- When you create an account, we collect your email address. That’s it.
- We use cookies to keep you logged in. No tracking cookies, no weird scripts, no stalking.
- We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) from the comments we moderate. We don’t know who wrote what, and we like it that way.
The Comments You Send Us
- To score a comment, we send its text—plus any context you include, like the article summary or the comment it replies to—to the AI services that do the scoring. That’s the only reason they get it.
- We don’t store the text of the comments we score. For accuracy monitoring we keep a one-way fingerprint (a hash) and the comment’s length, which can’t be turned back into what was written.
- The one exception: if you send us feedback on a score, we keep that comment’s text with your feedback so we can reproduce the mistake and fix it.
- Our AI providers don’t train their models on the comments we send them.
- Comments are processed in the United States.
What We Use Your Email For
- We’ll send you emails about your account—password resets, billing stuff, service updates.
- We won’t send you marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.
- We’ll never sell, rent, trade, or “accidentally leak” your email address. Ever.
Your Data, Your Call
- You can delete your account and wipe your data at any time. If you do, we’ll remove everything we’ve got on you.
- We store data on regional cloud servers (e.g., AWS, GCP), but we don’t control or specify the exact locations.
Who We Share With
We use third-party services for:
- Payments (Paddle, our merchant of record)
- Authentication and session management
- Scoring comments with AI
They only get the data they need to do their jobs, and nothing more.
The AI services that may see the comments you send us:
- OpenAI scores comments. It doesn’t train on data sent through its API, and keeps it for 30 days by default for abuse monitoring—longer only if the law requires it.
- TypeSafe classifies comments quickly: it decides spam and Perspective-compatible scores on its own, and screens other checks before any fuller scoring. It doesn’t train on what we send it, and keeps it only as long as it needs to provide the service.
If we add or change an AI provider, we’ll update this list.
About Future Logins
We don’t support OAuth (like Google login) today, but we might in the future. If we do, we’ll keep it secure and transparent.
No Creepy Fine Print
We don’t track you across the web. We don’t build profiles. We don’t sell data. We’re here to moderate comment sections, not run a shadow ad business.
Updates to This Policy
If anything changes, we’ll update this policy and let you know. You’re always welcome to ask us questions at admin@respectify.ai.
